AppCyclers Launches an Edu-Waste Radio Tour on the theme E-waste: A Menace Yet Unknown.

AppCyclers is an innovative startup and a social enterprise in Tamale focused on providing e-waste education, e-waste collection services, e-waste recycling and upcycling solutions to promote a safer and greener environment in Ghana and Africa at large. As part of our responsibility, we sensitize households, offices, schools and all communities that are committed to ideals of sustainable environments and development.

We are thrilled to launch the 𝗘𝗱𝘂-𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗼 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿. Theme: 𝑬-𝒘𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆: 𝑨 𝑴𝒆𝒏𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒀𝒆𝒕 𝑼𝒏𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒏. 

E-waste associated dangers have been considered a mirage, yet, many have been oblivious to the facts and the extent to which it can harm us or our loved ones. More so, many others have turned blind eye to its effects and deemed it as negligible and by so doing, may not take into consideration the escalation of its dangers.

In this educational tour, AppCyclers seeks to engage all and sundry in making this menace noticeable, especially how it would deeply eat into our sustainable fibers if we do not act now. Our minds will be opened to the far-fetched stories all over, close and beyond.

Discussions will be carried out in an exciting 8-week period of delivery on information on electronic waste, including sustainable ways that will help protect us. For instance, if one has used an electronic device over time to the extent of depreciated value or simply put, spoiled to a level of no repairs, the best advice would be to donate it to companies like AppCyclers. 

With that, one is free from the device taking up space and also being protected from the dangers of keeping the spoilt device or disposing of it irresponsibly that could endanger our lives. One can imagine, what a sudden explosion of a spoiled or old phone could do to a child close by or even adults.

E-waste does not only affect the one who disposes it irresponsibly but everyone who is exposed to it, which makes it a critical concern for everyone. Hence, there is the need to learn proper ways of disposing of e-waste. Their irresponsible disposal poses threats to our basic needs, chemicals from e-waste are most often carried into water bodies. Therefore, there is the need to find lasting solutions to this growing menace.

It is very evident that a thorough sensitization will be of great importance to psyche us or remind us of the impending dangers associated with e-waste.

This 𝗘𝗱𝘂-𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗼 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿 will be an entry point for sustainable development enthusiasts and many others concerned with responsible consumption. Providing a better understanding of what e-waste is, the causes, possible effects and sustainable practices to curb this menace would prove essential in our quest to raise awareness of e-waste. This will be impactfully enlightening during the period of engagement and even beyond.
